Weekly hours saved = weekly hours × the percent you said could be automated. Yearly labor value = those hours × hourly cost × 52. Payback = project cost ÷ monthly labor value, and only when that monthly figure is above zero. Employee count is not part of the formula. This is not a guarantee, and saved hours do not automatically become cash.
How to read the result
- Hours saved are the hours you said the process takes, multiplied by the share you believe can be automated. Exceptions stay manual.
- Labor value multiplies those hours by the hourly cost you entered. It does not subtract software, training, or the work of handling exceptions.
- Payback divides the project cost by the monthly labor value. If the monthly value is zero, payback is not meaningful.
- The employee count is context for the conversation. It is not in the formula. Essentials IT support is priced by computers, not by this calculator.
